In the middle of every difficulty lies an opportunity
--Albert Einstein

Many years ago, one of my best friends and I were having lunch and talking about hard times his life. He had gone through a horrendous time of struggle and sadness until he stumbled upon a book, The Four Agreements by Manuel Ruiz. My friend felt it held the key to unlocking his unhappiness. He was so excited about that book, he bought me a copy and gave it to me as a gift that very day. At the time, my life was in a great place and I did not feel like reading a self-help book, so I put it up on the shelf with my hundreds of other cherished books, waiting to be read.

A few years later, when a few things began to malfunction in my own life, I found myself constantly looking for answers in the wrong places. Instead of feeling better, I felt worse. Instead of stopping to learn something valuable about myself, I was allowing myself to be distracted by the bright shiny objects (things or people who waste our time) and soon, things indeed became worse. Then it all began to feel plain unmanageable.

One morning, while I was sitting on the floor rooting around for something, a large object fell on my head, it hit me so hard I saw stars. After the birdies stopped singing I looked to see what it was that clocked me. It was the book my friend had given me nearly three years before! There was no reason for that book to come off the tall and heavy shelf, it had been tightly ensconced up there. It seemed I needed to be hit in the head to wake up, and so it was.

Not needing to be hit twice, I went in my room, lit a candle and read it cover to cover. I ended up reading it four or five times. I still refer to it when I need a reminder and indeed the principles changed my life. I was so inspired by that book I decided to study everything I could get my hands on that would feed my heart, soul, mind and spirit. I learned to re-connect with myself and then wanted to share with others how to do the same. My soul caught on fire with a passion that I had never known and that is how I came to write THE 30 DAY HEARTBREAK CURE.

Sometimes we can find the answers to our questions, challenges or our problems, in a book, a bumper sticker, a situation or a person that we are divinely guided to. If we do not heed the call, it is very likely that we will be whacked in the head, or heart, or whatever it is that we need to wake up to. When we follow our intuition and it feels right, comfortable and good, we can come to the understanding that we are learning valuable things from painful experiences to move forward with. We can let go of the experience and look at the lesson, not through the eyes of anger, but of gratitude. Change the vision, and the situation will change too.

Sometimes the choice is to curl up in a ball and whither away or stand up, know that you matter and make your life count for something.

Which sounds more appealing?

Follow your intuition, pray for guidance, then go to it.

Don't wait to be hit over the head, but if you do, I hope it's gentle.

You matter.

Love For Sure,
